5 Things I Wish I Knew as a CS Student

First, I would like to say that I hope you are having an amazing summer and enjoying your break from school.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science last year. I like to believe that being an international student is a bit different experience and there are some things I wish I knew earlier. Reflecting back on my college years, I admit that I made some good decisions as well as mistakes. I remember myself being confused about study and life from time to time. Now I want to share my thoughts here to help CS students who are currently going through the same journey. So here are the things I wish someone could guide me in my college years.

Do Your Own Research

One thing I wish I had done more of during my time in college is conducting my own research on opportunities both inside and outside of my university. While my professors and advisors provided valuable guidance, there were many resources and opportunities that I missed out on simply because I didn’t take the time to do my own exploration.
